Musichameleon
Ty Stephens is a Philadelphia born, New York based R&B and Jazz singer and songwriter. He has been on the New York club scene since the early 1980's, while appearing on Broadway in the original companies of "Sophisticated Ladies" and Marilyn An American Fable".
He is the consumate performer and has shared the stage and recorded with such varied notables as Harry Belafonte, Phyllis Hyman, Gregory Hines, The Commodores, Eartha Kitt, Allyson Williams, Cheryl "Pepsi" Riley, Smokey Robinson, Patti Austin, Jeffrey Osborne, Toshi Kubota, Baba Olatunji, Nile Rodgers and Whoopi Goldberg. Ty and his band Romantasy have been opening acts for Angela Bofill, Vanessa Rubin and Larry Coryell.
He has recently released his second CD entitled "Deeper In Fantasy" which contains 11 original R&B and Jazz orientated compositons that TY co-produced with Joe Scott, who has toured and recorded with Lauren Hill, Chico Debarge, Hammer, Boyz II Men and Black Street.
The band Romantasy features Aziza Miller on keyboards, Ron "Rondew" Monroe on bass, Rod Gross on drums and Rob "R.T." Taylor on guitar. The first single from the CD is entitled "He Cannot Find His Way To Love", which is a mid-tempo R&B track that showcases Ty and the bands musical talents. Add to Cart
Ty Stephens debut CD entitled "Musichameleon", recorded in 1996, features Ty on vocals, along with Joe Scott on Keyboards, Cary Potts on Bass, Rocky Bryant on Drums, Abdul Hamed Zuhri on Electric Guitar, Ron McBee on Percussion, Branic McKenzie and Janet Van Kline on Background. The CD features 10 original compositions, produced by Tyand run the musical gamut from the uptembo soulful R&B/Funk track "Naturgroove" to the soft melodic ballad, "Never Did Believe". Add to Cart
