HOW WE LIVIN'


Soul Quest is a Washington, D.C. based Rap Group, with a Reggae Flavor. The group was formed in 1996, by The Viscous Fross, The Rap Lord Big Skip and The Venerable Fitz. Fross is a Negril, Jamaica, West Indies born writer,  and performer, now residing in Washington, D.C. He has been Rapping for about ten years, first in his native Jamaica, as a Dance hall DJ and then in the States, as a Dance hall DJ and Rapper. He met the Rap Lord Big Skip in mid 1995 and a year later the rap group was born. The Rap Lord Big Skip is from the DC area and has been performing in and around the DC metro area for twenty years. He is a writer, composer, drummer and performer. The duo is complemented by The Venerable Fitz, who provides a unique blend of Reggae flavored vocals. Fitz was born in Negril, Jamaica, West Indies and now lives in the DC area. He has been performing dance hall reggae for over ten years, first in his native Jamaica, then New York, and now DC. The group has now expanded to include the Rap styles of Wrecky Stevenson, aka the lyrical assassin, who will be featured on his own solo projects.

The Group's debut album is entitled, "How We Livin", and features 12 original and though provoking compositions, that were recorded over the past three years. Track 1, is entitled, "My Babe"and is an up-tempo groove that is laced with hype raps from Fross and The Rap Lord Big Skip. Background vocals are from an up and coming female vocalist named Kellie. Track 2 is a slow groove called "Danglin"and features the Rap Lord in a playful mood. The song also features Jeff Rush, of Big Baby Records, on vocals, as well as Kellie. Track 3 is called "Lion In a Den"and is soft tempo jam that features a Reggae flavor, courtesy of The Venerable Fitz. Track 4 is the title track,"HowWe Livin" and is a mid tempo groove with conscious lyrics from the dynamic duo and strong vocals from Kellie. Track 5, is called "Aint Scared of U" and is a mid tempo jam with a Rock and Roll/Funk flavor. Track 6 is entitled "College Boys" and features Fross with a thought provoking rap, about the bad side of college life. Track 7 is "U Bad Son" and is a bouncy mid tempo groove. Track 8 is "Soul Quest" and features Rude Kid, with a dance hall rap. Track 9 is called "Get Ready"and is a mid tempo dance floor friendly jam that will have you rocking. Track 10 is called "We No Scared" and is a dance hall reggae jam featuring The Venerable Fitz and Cee. Track 11 is "Heatin It Up" and is a remix to "Danling" and features a rap by Fross as well as The Rap Lord. Track 12 is the jazzy remix to "How We Livin" and features a talented sax player from the DC area named T. Allan Young, with Kellie on vocals. Soul Quest is destined to become a hot ticket with audiences everywhere.
