About Miracles and Mysteries
C. Furer and Karin Dem are from Buenos Aires, Argentina and their musical style is smooth jazz with a latin flavor. C. Furer graduated from the Jazz Academy "Ricardo Pellican", where he studied guitar and harmony and compostion with the master "Hector Lopez Furss". There he participated in different groups performing Jazz, Latin and Bossa Nova.
He subsequently founded the Jazz Fusion group "The New Pepper" that originally functioned as a quartet of elaborated instrumental music with themes of his authorship. This band performed at various venues in and around Buenos Aires. In 1997, he decided to focus the group on other musical influences and incorporated vocals. He met Karin Dem, lead vocalist for the band.
Karin began her musical carrer at age 17 with the duet called "Acuarela", performing classical songs of the Argentinean Folkloric music. She also performed in a band called "Volve Veronica" with Pop and Rock styles, where she began composing various songs.
In 1994 she graduated from Municipal Conservatory of Music "Manuel de Falla", specializing in piano.
Between 1994 and 1996 she performed with the group "Los Gronch", which mixed several popular rhythms and the group performed on several Argentinean TV channels. From 1996 to 1998 she became the lead voice of the group "The New Pepper" where she began her collaboration with C. Furer. She graduated from Buenos Aires in 1998 with a degree in Music Therapy.
Their debut CD is entitled "About Miracles and Mysteries"and contains 10 original compositions that are infused with their South American influences. We at Headquarters Records hope that you enjoy this new and exciting group as we believe they are headed for success.
