THE VENERABLE FITZ
The Venerable Fitz
was born in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, West Indies and began singing with DJ sound systems
in Jamaica at the age of 16. He migrated to the US as a sailor in 1987, where
he moved to New York and began playing at several clubs. In 1989 he moved to
Washington, D.C. and began performing at several Reggae clubs. He has won top
honors, two years in a row at the annual Wilmer's Reggae Summer Jam, in
Maryland. His musical influences include Half Pint, Cocoa Tea, Dennis
Brown and Gregory Issacs. His musical style is very similar to that of Half
Pint and Cocoa Tea. He also performs vocals for the Rap group Soul
Quest.
His first single is
called "We No Scared". It also features Cee on vocals and is a
blazing dancehall beat, and The Venerable's lyrics just flow over the beat
captivating the listener. The Venerable's debut album entitled
"Took The Risk" features 13 original songs and run the musical
gamut from up tempo dancehall to smooth lovers rock. For a reivew of this

The second single is entitled "No Man Can"and is a rockin mid-tempo
jam that showcases the Venerable's artistic skills. The latest single from
the album is entitled "Hypnotize" and is a blazin dancehall track
produced by Dubwise.
