James Bazen James Bazen is a jazz musician originally from Florida, now residing in Maryland. He is an acomplished tenor, alto and soprano saxaphone player, and flutist. He recorded his first CD in 1992, entitled "Strange Things", which features the James Bazen Quintet and containes seven original jazz compositions. James played Soprano, alto and tenor sax as well as flute. He was accompanied by Mark Cook on piano and synthesizers, Mike Davis on trumpet and flugelhorn, Ward Harris on acoustic and electric bass and Steve Lawrence on Drums. His second CD is entitled "Tonight He's Mine" and features The James Bazen Big Band. The CD features eleven compositions that include several classics, such as "Summertime" and "Willow Weep For Me". The CD features Debbie Macfarlan on vocals (Tonight He's Mine) and Patty McKay on vocals (You Can Have It, Willow Weep For Me and I Could Write A Book. Ray Curry is featured on alto sax and flute, Kellogg Johnson on tenor sax, Don Lerman on tenor sax and Nancy Switkes on baritone sax. On trumpet is Mike Davis, Mac McClaeb, Bennie Greene and Charlie Peterson. On trombone is Mike Gordon, Doug Elliot, Dale Cheat, Bob Powers and Todd Sahlroot. The balance of the band consists of Brian Litz on guitar, larry Brown on piano and keyboards, Hugh Johnson on acoustic and electric bass and Steve Lawrence on drums.
